What we do

Servicing, repairs and the fun stuff.

A full mechanical workshop, so you are not sent to three different places for one job. Everything below happens here in Parkes.

Logbook Servicing

Scheduled servicing done to the manufacturer’s book, stamped and recorded, so a car still under new car warranty stays that way.

Diagnostics

Warning light on, running rough, something not right. Scanned and traced properly before anything gets replaced.

Engine Repairs and Upgrades

Timing chains, cam gears, cylinder heads and full front covers. Engine work taken back as far as it needs to go.

Clutch and Drivetrain

Clutch replacements, drivetrain repairs and transmission cooling. Quality clutch kits fitted and set up properly.

Suspension and Lift Kits

Coilovers, lift kits and full suspension installs for utes and 4WDs, plus suspension components supplied.

Diesel and Petrol Tuning

ECU remapping and tuning for both diesel and petrol. Not something you find in every country town.

Auto Electrical and Head Units

Vehicle electrical work, plus aftermarket head unit installs wired in neatly and finished flush in the dash.

4WD Accessories

Light bars, driving lights and accessory fit outs, mounted and loomed so they look factory when the bonnet shuts.

Parts and consumables are stocked on site, including gaskets, filters, clutches and batteries, along with suspension kits and lights.

In the workshop

Work you can see the inside of.

Most of what comes through the door is ordinary and gets treated that way: a service, a light on the dash, a noise that was not there last week. But the bigger jobs stay here too. Clutches out and back in, front covers off, timing chains and cam gears on the bench, cylinder heads stripped and put right.

It is the reason people bring the interesting ones as well as the daily driver. If it can be done properly in a country workshop, it gets done here rather than sent three hours down the road.

  • Clutch and pressure plate replacement
  • Timing chains, cam gears, front covers
  • Cylinder head removal and repair
  • Transmission oil cooler fit ups
  • Coilover and lift kit installs
  • Diesel and petrol tuning

Auto electrical

Head units and wiring, finished flush.

Aftermarket head units go in properly. Trim off, loom run behind the dash, unit sitting square in the fascia with the factory climate controls and buttons still where they were. No packers, no gaps, nothing hanging.

The same goes for light bars and driving lights: mounted to solid points, wired and loomed out of sight, so it looks like it left the factory that way once the bonnet is shut.

We started using Jake when we were taking both of our cars to another mechanic in town and was far from impressed with their service. I can’t recommend Jake highly enough. He’s thorough with his work and his turn around is brilliant. Great Bloke as well. We will be always using Maitos Mechanical.

Maito recently installed a supplementary transmission oil cooler to our D-Max. The installation and presentation was first class, I was very impressed with the workmanship.

About the shop

Jake, and a licence on the wall.

Maito’s Mechanical has been servicing Parkes and the surrounding district since 2022. It is a licensed workshop, MVRL 60502, and a Penrite Service Centre, and the person who books your car in is the person who works on it.

That is most of the appeal. You get told what is actually wrong, you get it back when it was promised, and if something needs explaining you get the explanation rather than the invoice.
